Zhengzhou Yumian Industrial Park is a mid-tier specialty-chemistry cluster located in central Henan province, leveraging Zhengzhou's position as one of China's largest rail hubs (the intersection of Beijing-Guangzhou and Lanzhou-Lianyungang lines passes through Zhengzhou) and as one of the major air-cargo hubs in China. The Yumian district (formerly a cotton-mill industrial area) was redesignated in 2008 for chemical-and-specialty industry. Pingmei Shenma's Zhengzhou operations are a smaller satellite of the main Pingmei Shenma cluster at Pingdingshan (which is China's largest single-site nylon 6,6 / nylon-fibre integrated complex), supplemented by Henan Yima Coal Industry's coal-tar chemistry derivatives and Zhengzhou Pharmaceutical Group's API intermediates. Two operator-distinct points. First, the Zhengzhou rail-hub position makes the park a logistics-attractive origin for inland-Chinese consignments to Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Xi'an markets within sub-2-day rail transit. Second, the air-cargo hub at Xinzheng Airport offers express-shipment capability for high-value pharmaceutical-intermediate and electronic-grade chemistry that justifies the air-freight premium.
