Shaoxing is China's textile capital (the city's woven-and-knitted-fabric output exceeds the entire fabric production of many medium-sized countries), and the coastal industrial cluster provides the dye, pigment, and textile-auxiliary chemistry that supplies the local textile-mill demand plus exports to global textile manufacturers. Zhejiang Longsheng Group is the dominant tenant, operating the largest dispersed-dye and reactive-dye production capacity in China. The textile-dye chemistry is structurally specialty and high-margin: each dye SKU carries unique synthesis chemistry, and Longsheng's portfolio spans thousands of distinct active ingredients across the disperse, reactive, vat, sulphur, acid, and direct dye families. Two operator-distinct points. First, the seasonal nature of Shaoxing-area textile demand creates predictable annual price patterns; spring-autumn (Q2 and Q3) see peak fabric production and corresponding dye demand spikes. Second, the post-2018 dyeing-mill consolidation in Zhejiang province has reduced the local mill count by roughly 40%, which has shifted Shaoxing dye chemistry toward export-oriented supply rather than the previous mostly-domestic offtake.
