Yangzhou Hanjiang is a mid-tier specialty-and-fine-chemicals park along the Yangtze north bank, focused on dyes, pigments, pharmaceutical intermediates, and the Yizheng-Sinopec polyester staple-fibre and DMT (HS 291737) sub-cluster. The park lost its national-level CIP designation in the 2019-2021 Jiangsu chemical-park rationalisation following the Xiangshui chemical-park explosion (March 2019, 78 dead), and now operates as provincial-level under tighter MEE inspection cycles. The remaining tenant base is dominated by mid-size specialty chemistry plants and pharmaceutical-intermediate manufacturers; commodity petchem moved out post-rationalisation. Two operator-distinct points. First, the Yangtze barge access is the geographic advantage; Yangzhou-to-Shanghai Yangshan barge is sub-2-day and cheaper than truck for bulk consignments, and the river-sea trans-shipment to ocean carriers is straightforward at Shanghai. Second, the post-Xiangshui regulatory regime in Jiangsu makes Yangzhou-sourced products carry tighter MEE-compliance documentation than parks in less-regulated provinces, which matters for export buyers needing chain-of-custody for environmental certifications.
