Anqing Petrochemical is Anhui province's largest petchem complex, anchored by Sinopec Anqing's 8 Mt/yr crude refinery and integrated chemical complex. The signature high-margin product chain is acrylonitrile (HS 292610) and acrylic fibre; Anqing was one of Sinopec's two original acrylic-fibre production sites (alongside Lanzhou) and continues to supply PAN fibre to the carbon-fibre-precursor and textile-fibre chains. The park's position on the Yangtze River bank gives it barge access to Shanghai for export plus inland rail freight to Anhui-Hubei-Jiangsu markets. Two operator-distinct points. First, the acrylic-fibre PAN chemistry from Anqing supplies the carbon-fibre-precursor stream that has grown rapidly with Chinese aerospace and wind-turbine composite demand since 2018. Second, Anhui province has been positioning Anqing as part of the central-Yangtze petchem corridor (Anqing-Wuhan-Yueyang) that Beijing's Yangtze River Protection policy is consolidating; smaller Anhui chemical parks have closed and Anqing is one of the survivors.
